Týden po MČR smíšených dvojic pořádal klub Sahara Vědomice další turnaj, tentokrát v kategorii Regional. Přesto se na Podřipský pohár sjelo 47 dvojic, aby strávily vskutku saharskou sobotu hrou pétanque.
Mnozí si mysleli, že po minulém týdnu vědí, jaký povrch je čeká. Omyl byl pravdou. Po sedmi dnech bez deště povrch přeschnul a byl skutečně tvrdý. Čtyřkolový švýcar a následná šestnáctka K. O. slibovala pro nejlepší osm zápasů. Všechny za světla a na přímém slunci.
